John Catania is a film reviewer whose work has appeared in Metro, Empire Magazine, Scenestr and many other academic, print and online film publications. John was the resident reviewer for the Sunday Mail and his major articles include features on martial arts and culture, Australian national identity in film and a set report on The Spierig Brother’s sci-fi, Predestination; for which he interviewed cast ad crew, including Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke. He is a member of the Australian Film Critics Circle and associate member of the international federation of film critics, FIPRESCI.
