Short bio
Hilary Radner is Professor Emeritus at the University of Otago / Te Whare Wānanga o Otāgo. Her numerous publications on visual culture include over seventy-five refereed articles and book chapters, seven refereed co-edited volumes with international presses and three single-authored monographs from Routledge on the representation of contemporary femininity as a cross-media phenomenon. The final volume in this trilogy, The New Woman’s Film: Femme-centric Movies for Smart Chicks (2017), examines contemporary cinema for women, encompassing its relations with the fashion system and celebrity culture. She co-edited a special issue with Vicki Karaminas on fashion and the moving image for Fashion Theory in 2017 and served as co-author on Raymond Bellour: Cinema and the Moving Image (Edinburgh University Press, 2018).
