Short bio
Mariona was born and raised in the Mediterranean during the 1980s. She has lived in Europe, Latin America and has called Australia home for the last decade. Mariona works as a documentary director, writer and producer with over fifteen years of experience finding and delivering stories for the screen. Films include Singled [Out] (2017) exploring the stigma of being a single woman; It Started in The Sunderland (2018), featuring medical students in Melbourne returning to university; the participatory film The Last Summer (2017); and Distancias (2010), on the topic of the Cuban diaspora, amongst others.
