Short bio

As an ethnoecologist and filmmaker with Jaralji Film Collective, Fiona’s heartland is Mparntwe (Alice Springs), her home for twenty-seven years. When a CSIRO research scientist, she expanded media from research papers to film to inspire wider audiences. Fiona’s productions explore people – nature connections especially in her work amongst Indigenous people. She has been a key creative on fifteen short and long-form documentaries including with SBS and NITV credits. Two of Fiona’s video poems were selected for 2020 international film festivals. In 2021, one of her co-created video series and study guide is soon to be hosted by Australian Teachers of Media.
