Short bio
Dr Steven Allen is an independent scholar, who previously taught Film Studies at the Open University, the University of Warwick and the University of Winchester, UK.
His research focuses on Australian cinema, particularly representations of landscapes, and film animation. He is co-editor of Narratives of Place in Literature and Film (2019) and Framing Film: Cinema and the Visual Arts (2012), and author of Cinema, Pain and Pleasure: Consent and the Controlled Body (2013).
