Short bio
Alejandra Canales is an award-winning film director, producer and educator with more than 15 years experience working in the Australian film industry. As a director, she tells stories with a unique slant and visually striking style. Alejandra’s body of work includes Switch on the Night and A Silence Full of Things. During her time as Head of Documentary at Sydney Film School, she was Executive Producer on over 120 short films. Her work has screened at Sydney Film Festival, IDFA, and many other international festivals in Italy, Turkey and Japan. She is co-founder of the Antenna Documentary Film Festival.
