The 2019 SAE ATOM Awards are now calling for applications from prospective judges for this year’s Awards.
We are seeking judges from both the education and screen industry sectors, as well as qualified and enthusiastic individuals with other backgrounds. Applicants are encouraged to apply from anywhere in the world since all judging is done through our online judging system, including the streaming of all video entries.
Judges will be selected based on several criteria, including their professional expertise and qualifications, but previous ATOM Awards judging may also be looked at. Judges will have their photo (optional) and a short bio displayed on this website as well as in the printed 2019 SAE ATOM Awards program, to be handed out at this year’s Student Awards Presentation and Tertiary & Industry Awards Night. Click here to see how we presented last year’s judges.
All efforts will be made to ensure judges are allocated one of their preferred categories (or a very similar category), however this can’t be guaranteed – successful applicants must be willing to judge the category/ies they are assigned. In some cases, if entry numbers for certain categories are low, we may assign multiple categories to some judges.
Applicants must be available to complete their judging between Friday 28 June and Friday 26 July this year. The exact time commitment required will vary depending on the number and duration of entries being judged. It has tended to total between 4 and 6 hours in recent years, but our online system allows judging to be completed at any time (24/7) throughout the judging period.
Judges will need access to a computer with internet during the judging period, and will be responsible for ensuring their internet access is maintained until their judging has been completed.
We recommend judges use a large screen and good-quality speakers or headphones in order to experience their allocated entries at their best.
To apply to be a judge for the 2019 SAE ATOM Awards, please submit the online application form accessible via the button below by midday AEST, Friday 14 June 2019.
If you encounter any difficulties completing the application form, or if you have any questions about the judging process, please contact ATOM on +61 3 9525 5302 or at [email protected].
