Martha Ansara is a documentary director/producer whose prize-winning films on social issues have been screened in Australia and internationally. Her work includes Ordinary People (ABC, 2002), I Remember 1948 (SBS, 2008), The Ballad of Betty & Joe (2009) and Essie Coffey’s My Survival as an Aboriginal (1979), recently restored by the NFSA. She is the author of The Shadowcatchers published in 2012 – available through the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS). She is a life member of the Australian Directors Guild and has been inaugurated into the ACS Hall of Fame. Her films are available through Ballad Films.
