SHORT BIO

Sally Christie is a film writer and critic. She completed her Master’s in Media: Screen + Sound at La Trobe University, with her research focusing on 1970s underground cinema. Sally’s other research interests include censorship in film, gender representation in cinema, controversial cinema and pop culture in education. Sally currently teaches Media at Footscray City College and lectures in film history at Footscray City Films. She has worked on film festivals such as Stranger With My Face International Film Festival, Melbourne Queer Film Festival and Monster Fest. Sally is proudly involved with the film collective Cinemaniacs, which focuses on retrospective screenings.
