ROLE / ORGANISATION
O'Connor Catholic College
Eli Simpson has taught English in over five New South Wales secondary schools. During this time, she has taught both senior and junior classes to appreciate and value film as an enriching and engaging textual form. She has a Master of Letters (Literature) in which she explored the representation of female sexuality in contemporary erotic literature. She passionately advocates for film to be a meaningful text for exploration in the English classroom, as it so aptly captures students’ imaginations while also having the potential to subvert their expectations, thus fostering opportunities to question what is real and what is imagined.
