SHORT BIO

Dr Dan Golding is Lecturer in Media and Communications at Swinburne University of Technology and the director of Freeplay, Australia’s longest-running and largest independent games festival. He is the co-author of Game Changers: From Minecraft to Misogyny, The Fight for the Future of Videogames and wrote the soundtrack for the PlayStation 4 videogame Push Me Pull You. With a PhD in Screen Studies from the University of Melbourne, Dan writes about videogames, music and film for a variety of publications. In 2015, his series A Short History of Video Games was broadcast on ABC Radio National. He is a contributing editor for Metro magazine.
